We’re Off to the Off Road Expo in Pomona!
For the fifth year in a row, TMR Customs will be exhibiting at the Off Road Expo in Pomona, California. As Tim puts it “it’s the best show of the year!”
The show runs on September 30th and October 1st, and, if previous years are any indication, this one will blow the doors off. In 2013, the first year we exhibited, 60,000 fans and 300 vendors took part. Last year, that had grown to 73,000 fans and 350 exhibitors, and this year will top it all.
The Off Road Expo turned into a semi-annual affair this year with the Off Road Expo presented by Nitto running last March 18 and 19 in Scottsdale, Arizona. But it’s the Lucas Oil Off Road Expo, held each year in Pomona, where it all happens. As they say, it’s truly “Where the Off Road Nation Comes Together”.
Whether you’ve built a custom buggy from the ground up, or you just like to be a spectator, there’s something for you at the Expo. Last year’s show featured 10 acres of demos, exhibitors and experiences for every off road enthusiast, including desert racing, rock crawling, trail riding, sand sports, motorcycles, atv’s and expedition.
For race fans, the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series ran high-horsepower, high-flying Pro 2, Pro Lite and Kart racing demos all weekend. Those who prefer to actually get into the action were able to enjoy the Rubicon Experience which put them in Pro Comp, Rubicon Express and Smittybilt Jeeps for ride-alongs with pro drivers on the “toughest trail in the United States” the Rubicon Trail.
Racing fans also enjoyed Dragonfly Racing Side by Side ride-alongs with racing champions Lacrecia Beurrier and Corry Weller and they also witnessed the SCORE International/Baja 1000 Course Map unveiling, among lots of other racing attractions.
Autograph hounds got to choose from the over 40 appearances and signing opps with top professional racers and personalities of today and yesterday including Rob MacCachren, Patrick Clark, Brian Deegan, Larry Roeseler, Rob MacCachren, Gus ‘Tavo’ Vildosola Jr., Bryce Menzies, Casey Currie, Ivan “Ironman” Stewart, BJ Baldwin, Walker Evans, Rod Hall, Shannon Campbell and more.
The Off-Road Gear Guide is quickly becoming the industry bible for trends and the latest products and innovations from the top manufacturers in the business. The early buzz on this year’s show is deafening. It promises to be the greatest collection of off-road companies, parts, equipment, gear, action and experts ever assembled in America. In addition to everything fans enjoyed last year, this year’s Expo promises more, including the O’Reilly Auto Parts Show-n-Shine (you can enter your ride in the show!), Dirt Alliance demos and lots more entertainment with live bands, DJs and whisky tastings.
